My working career has included Land Surveying for 9 years before spending the majority of my work life in Information Technology. I retired from the workforce in 2013 to focus on motorcycling and family.
Throughout my career I have chaired many committee meetings at both strategic and operational levels. Additionally, I spent 3 years as Chair of the Body Corporate Committee for the Unit building that I live in, consisting of 118 Units.
In 2019 I started a Master Degree with the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q), QUT. The focus of my research is motorcycle road safety, something I am passionate about.
I have been riding motorcycles for over 50 years and still actively ride my 2 motorcycles (2007 Honda CB1300 and 1972 Honda CB750).

A lifelong enthusiast, my passion for motorcycling began in 1980 on a Honda
K7 750. While the technology has evolved since that time=97I=92m now enjoy
ing the unique personalities of a Yamaha XSR900GP, a Suzuki GSX1250FA, a Mo
to Guzzi V7 850, and a Triumph Bonneville 97 the joy and sense of connection
to the road that comes with riding a bike, have never faded.
Involved with the Queensland Motorcycle Council since 2024, I strongly believe in the need for strong rider representation, advocacy, support, and ongoing rider education. Professionally, I work as a sessional academic and Un=
iversity Partner at QUT. I leverage my deep interest in the application of the neuroscience of learning and mindfulness in supporting lifelong learning=97a skill I see as highly relevant to motorcycling, helping riders stay present, aware, and continually evolving.
Cheers,
Don Cameron
